Two positions are open right now.

American Landscape Systems employs around 350 people across the Dallas and Fort Worth metroplex, and adding to that number is a normal part of running the business, not an afterthought. The company has been owner run since Mario A. Bevilacqua founded it in 1985, and it has grown every decade since without ever changing hands, which is not something every employer in this trade can say. Below are the two roles open today, with what each one actually covers.

Open roles

One on the maintenance side, one on the sales side.

The maintenance account manager role sits with the property relationships already under contract, the weekly walk, the property report and the seasonal calendar. The sales role builds the pipeline that feeds that side of the business in the first place. Both report into the same commercial landscape maintenance division described on the services page.

Maintenance Account Manager

Owns the day to day relationship on a book of maintained commercial properties, from the weekly walk to the seasonal colour calendar.

Manage execution of the contracted schedule of services on assigned properties
Meet with property managers weekly and issue a weekly property report
Propose enhancements to the properties under management
Forecast and schedule spray applications, fertilizations, seasonal colour changes and rye grass applications
Field operations and training for chemical applications
Route and equipment analysis
Quality control and warranty period inspection

Full time
Compensation depends on experience, competitive
Requires a Texas Driver's Licence

Commercial Maintenance Business Sales Manager

Sells commercial landscape maintenance contracts using pricing guidelines developed with, and approved by, the company.

Sell commercial landscape maintenance contracts against company-approved pricing guidelines
Build and manage a pipeline of prospective commercial maintenance accounts

At-will position
Compensation is a negotiated, non-recoverable commission draw, paid monthly on the first Friday

Compensation on both open roles is set case by case, based on experience, and is not published as a single figure because it is not one. The benefits underneath it are the same for everyone on staff.

The people you would be joining

Around 350 of them, most with somewhere they have been longer than a year.

Crews, foremen, licensed irrigators, estimators and project managers, several of whom have been on this payroll for more than a decade. New hires join that group, not a rotating one.
